M.Sc. Comunity Health and Nutrition
Introduction:
M.Sc Community Health and Nutrition programme has been especially designed for health professionals with following objectives
- To promote the profession of Health, Nutrition and Dietetics.
- To provide opportunities to medical professionals to enrich their education in the field of nutrition and enhance their knowledge in this branch of preventive health.
- To provide guidance/educational opportunities to in-service dietitians and other health professionals engaged in planning and serving hospital meals.
- MBBS with clinical experience in the field of paediatrics, cardiology, diabetes and urology etc.
- M.Sc. Food & Nutrition (Home Economics) with teaching and Hospital experience.
- B.Sc. Community Nursing with minimum of three years Hospital experience.
Selection Process:
Admission is made on merit basis.Selected students are informed through admission department for submission of fee inorder to confirm their candiature.
Duration:
Two Years ( 04 semesters each of 6 months)

Teaching Methodology:
Nonformal distance education system supported by compulsory fortnightly tutorials

64 international credit hours ( 10 AIOU Credits)

Collaborations:
The Course was developed in collaboration with Kings College London. Teaching faculty includes both at campus as regular faculty and renowned scholars from other research organizations such as Pakistan Medical and Research Council, National Agricultural and Research Council, National Institute of Health, Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research etc.
Workshop:
Three days workshop for each course is mandatory
Thesis:
Research work is compulsory for all students
Practical:
Lab and community based practical work is compulsory for all courses
Viva:
Viva Voce Examination based on thesis is compulsory
