Since long there has been a demand from science Education graduates of AIOU as well as of formal education institutions for Ms and PhD program in Science Education. Keeping in view the need for a higher degree program in science education and the fact that there is a dearth of qualified scholars having research experience in the field of Science Education, the department started Ms in Science Education in 2010.
This program is offered through distance mode. The program aims to provide professionals with advanced knowledge and skills in the area of science education and to prepare scholars who can provide effective leadership in science education. Moreover, the program provides an opportunity of higher education and research in the field of Science Education. MS comprises of 30 credit hours course work.
Admission Requirement:
M.A (Education with specialization in Science Education) / M.Ed Science Education/ M.S.Ed (2nd Division). Merit is determined on the basis of educational qualification, experience, score of GRE (General) and interview. The applicants should have passed GAT of National Testing Service prior to applying for the program.
Selection Process:
: Candidates merit is determined on the bases of his/her previous academic achievements, experience, marks in GAT (NTS) and interview performance. Interview is meant to evaluate the candidate's self concept, confidence and critical thinking, knowledge. The admission Committee of the department, duly approved by the higher authorities conducts the interview. Selected candidates are intimated by the Directorate of Admission with the advice to deposit fee according to the schedule provided by AIOU.
