Introduction

B.Ed (2.5 years) is offered for prospective/in-service teachers who have completed 14 years of education, for grooming and updating their professional development skills. The programme intends to develop pedagogical and content related knowledge, attitude and skills of the students.  It offers the opportunities to the students for improving their teaching practice and action research skills by working in the classroom. There are theoretical and practical courses in this programme. There are compulsory courses which will be taken by every student of the programme whereas the student may select two clusters out of five clusters in this programme.

Eligibility Criteria

BA/BSc/ADA/ADC/ADS or equivalent (14 years of education)

Selection Process

The students are confirmed for enrolment in the programme upon fulfillment of the admission criteria of the programme.

For academic content courses, the student can select only two clusters in the second semester. Student will study the academic content courses in subsequent semesters related to the clusters selected in the second semester. During BEd (2.5 years programme), a student will complete 06 courses of each of these two clusters which s/he had selected in the second semester.

Workshop

There will be a compulsory workshop for each course in every semester. There will be face to face workshop of teaching practice courses.

Thesis

Nil. The student will work on action research project in “Research Project (CC: 8613)”.

Practical

Teaching practice-I (course code: 8607), Teaching Practice-II (course code: 8608) and Research Project (course code: 8613) are practical courses. The required work for these courses will be completed by the student after teaching/working in the school/classroom.
