Introduction

The Department of Interfaith Studies is offering MPhil Islamic studies (Specialization in Interfaith Studies). This is the most important & significant Program offered by the Department of Interfaith Studies, AIOU. This Program is reputed as one of the best programs in public sector universities of Pakistan. The MPhil students are required to complete specific coursework & research work under the supervision of highly qualified supervisors. This Program requires 2 to 4years for completion. The student’s complete coursework under the guidance of qualified faculty members. This Program is designed to carry out research in different fields of Islamic Studies so that new dimensions of understanding Islam can be explored. This Program provides scholars an opportunity of exercising independent critical judgment through research skills in the light of Interfaith Studies.

 AIMS & OBJECTIVES

The MPhil Islamic Studies (Specialization in Interfaith Studies) is aimed to:

  • Prepare scholars of research aptitude who can analyze facts in the light of Islamic research principles.
  • Establish a cadre of specialists and professionals in different fields of Islamic Studies, who can conduct quality research in various disciplines of Islam. Provide opportunities for professional growth and development to scholars in general and in-service personnel.

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum entry requirements for admission to MS/MPhil/ or equivalent programs shall be minimum of 16 years of schooling or 4 years of education in the relevant subject after Higher Secondary School Certificate with at least second division or equivalent CGPA/GPA (minimum with 120 credit hours from HEC recognized institution).

Selection Process

Merit Based.
